My Wedding Dress
Hello lovely bloggers!
All right so you may remember a previous post here about how I'm planning a wedding for myself even though I do not technically have a groom...yet.
Well I thought I would share my dream wedding dress with all of you. I have two problems with this dress.
1. I can't afford it
2. I cannot afford it (darn you Vera Wang for being so good and expensive!)
Oh and I haven't actually seen it on me. But I figure since I KNOW how I look in clothes it's pretty safe to say this dress would be perfect. Although a country theme is implied in the picture THIS WILL NOT HAPPEN. I will have a beach themed wedding with a reception right on the ocean. Feast your eyes!
Also, if any of you have any great ideas how I could come by this dress (in ooooh let's say 2 years) without the $4,000 price tag I would be very happy to hear them!!

I love that dress! Is it the dress or the dress+label that you are in love with? I ask, because many times, you can find a seamstress who can sew a dress to very closely match your preferred design for less than half the price...

it's gorgeous!

It's a beautiful dress! Maybe just maybe this VERA WANG would be at a sample sale or something? Here's hoping.

It's lovely. I love looking at wedding dresses too, but I fall in love with something else every time I look! I bet by the time you get married you'll have a new dress crush. :)

I hope your boyfriend doesn't read your blog, haha. He might get scared by this post ;) Plus you need to keep your dress a secret.

That dress is lovely. One thing I noticed while dress shopping is that you can find a lot of the same type of dresses at various shops. So if you can't afford the original Vera dress you may be able to find one that is very similar from another designer. The main difference would probably be in the quality of fabric and of course the label. Plus by the time you are actually ready to buy it you may be able to find it on Ebay :)
P.S. I tagged you on my blog

The dress is gorgeous. The scary thing is that $4,000 is actually cheap for a Vera!

Nice dress. You would think there would be a designer wedding dress recycle store or something. Really it gets worn once. They don't need to be kept. Maybe you could start some store like that and score the dress for free.
Prob easier to try to save the money though. :)

There's a website that sells wedding dress cheaper than what you would pay in the store. Of course they are pre-owned but some haven't even worn them. They sell them brand new at a discount because a lot of people buy a dress on an impulse and then decide they want something else or change the theme of their wedding. Here's the link: http://www.preownedweddingdresses.com/ You probably want your own, but I thought I would shoot this site your way. It's a great place to look for dress ideas anyways. Hope you had a great weekend!

Vera Wang is a genius! You know what, Vera Wang's actually relatively "cheaper" compared to other wedding gown designers like Oscar dela Renta and Elie Saab. I read in a magazine that she actually makes sure women can afford her pieces. Haha..$4000 isn't exactly "affordable" right? But compared to those designers I've mentioned, whose wedding gowns range from $5-to even $8,000 she's got a point! :)

come on now... you know your wedding is destined to be country themed!!! ahahahaaa.

August 3, 2009 7:31 PM

August 3, 2009 9:13 PM
I tried that dress on, and it is so beautiful!!! I love it... very pricey though. I agree... but you can make it work. Set aside a little piggy bank now! :)

this is such a pretty dress! if you've got your heart set on it there are a few things you could do 1) look into sample sales and 2) check into websites like onewed.com (search there for designer dresses and size and see if you can find a match) you've got time so you can look around!!
